Not going to the High Rollers Rally in Las Vegas? Feeling left out of the fun? Do you have to use your vacation time later in the year?
Well, this is the next best thing. Join us for a back country ride ending at Viejas Casino and factory outlet center. Viejas offers casual dining, shopping, and gambling (not necessarily in that order).

I'm not familiar with these areas, approx. how many miles will this play out to be?
Thanx for planning this BTW, it sounds like fun for those of us choosing not to go to another event....

Not sure of the mileage yet. It's not more than 30 miles round trip fron the starting point.
I getting together with Sherry, the gal with that stunning red '58 Vespa, and we are going to come up with a ride. What's up in the air is the exact route. I'm want to go along Mt. Helix, into El Cajon, Dehesa, and up the backside to old 80. The ride doesn't look too long.
We will plan a ride back to the starting point at a certain time (well before dark).

*Bump*
A little more than a week away.
Thanks you guys for being considerate. I posted this same ride on that other Modern site and promptly got flamed because some of them thought that I should not schedule a "competing" ride.
They failed to realize that San Diego is more than 5 hours away from their festivities in Lost Wages the same weekend.

I thought the whole point was that it was for the people not going to Vegas!pcbikedude wrote: I posted this same ride on that other Modern site and promptly got flamed because some of them thought that I should not schedule a "competing" ride.
I'd come down but SD is just as far as Vegas for me. And if I can't make High Rollers due to work, I have no business going to SD.
Eric // LA Scooter Meetup Group // Stella 4T // Vespa LX // Vespa LXS // Honda Helix // some, uh, projects…

There are a few peeps on MV that mistakenly think they can legislate how others enjoy their scoots, and spend their free time. That board's taken a turn for the worse lately, an unlucky turn of events for what was once the premier forum for scooters and scootering, imo.pcbikedude wrote:*Bump*

I've been scooting longer than many, and not as long a some, but I'll be damned if I let let anyone tell me how and when to spend my spare time.
(well, except the Missus of course!)
See you all on the 16th, in San Diego.

Amen brother!
Yes, it was the point. But some of those MVers thought I was trying to draw away people from their event. I tried to stress to them it was a local ride.ericalm wrote:I thought the whole point was that it was for the people not going to Vegas!

***Route: From downtown La Mesa to the top of Mt Helix. From there we'll drop down into El Cajon and head out towards Dehesa. We'll head north along Tavern Rd / and Southgrade towards Willows Rd in Alpine.
The return trip will be along Old Highway 80 through the east side of Lakeside, through downtown El Cajon and back to La Mesa.
