Been using HiFloFiltro HF562 on my 2012 Kymco Yager. Oil always looks good coming out so I think they work at least as well as OEM.

Only until it's out of warranty. Genuine seems pretty strict on dealer doing the services. I'm sure it's illegal to require owners to do this but I can't afford a lawyer if the decided not to cover an issue

You can change your own oil or have another shop do it. It's just a smart move to keep receipts of materials and labor.
As for concerns regarding consumer protections when dealing with warranties, remember that you have the
Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act in your corner.

Ah, HF197. That is what this thread is about.

The HiFlo HF197 is the only oil filter I've ever used in my 2006 Blur and have not had any issues. I have not found any large particulates, dogs, cats, or small children in the oil during changes. I usually change the filter every other oil change.
