Hello - Newbie here

Post by SamMax »

I just just purchaseds a 2007 Pink Buddy 125cc and I have my permit but have not completed the course yet. I used your site and the Vespa site when I was researching about bikes. I don't fit on the Vespa very well. The ball of my foot just touches the ground when I tilt the bike and I find it heavy.. the buddy just felt better to me.

I live in the Doylestown area and Philadelphia. I will be keeping my Buddy down the city.

Sam, welcome !
This is a friendly place to be as you probably found from your research. :D

Can you tell us a bit more about yourself, what type of use the scoot will get and so on?
Beer is the answer . . . what was the question?

Well I own a Volvo S60 and I am tired of having it down the city. Besides the breakins, it has been hit by one neighbor twice while he attempted to park this enormous van and to top it off the freaking parking tickets have got to go. I got a ticket while checking out scooters in the city (probably a ploy to help promote scooter sales  ). And another huge reason is to save on gas and help to prevent unneeded gas emissions.

So I no longer need my car for work since I am changing careers and I am currently in school. So I plan on driving it from the art museum area in Philly to Drexel and also to my clinicals depending on where they are in the city. And I will use public buses etc when weather is bad. I will keep my car in Doylestown and use it when necessary.

Yup, it was a trip to Italy that we took that pretty much sealed my scooter fate. It took me 6 years to finally get one but I don't think I'll be looking back anytime soon!!

Thank you, I definitely couldn't place that location in Philly. Here's another welcome from a Philly expatriate and Drexel alum. Welcome to MB and scooting in general too!

Take the course and practice, practice, practice. It's not just good for you and your Buddy, it's fun too. Ride safely!

Welcome, Sam! Nice to see another east-coaster here. I grew up north of Philly. I really really miss deep fried pierogies.

Welcome. Be sure to post lots of questions and soon you won't be a newbie anymore. Most important though are lots of pics of your scoot on arrival and throughout the personalization / baptism process.

Welcome! I'm fairly new too. Also had the same experience with the Vespa and, like you, switched to a Buddy which is perfect!
