Problems with tank venting (which some call vapor lock) are easy to diagnose, and easy to cure. If the scooter stalls, and you hear a "whoosh" when you loosen the gas gap - you have a tank venting problem. A vented gas cap solves the problem immediately and completely. In practice, the real problem is that just about any rough running or stalling can be attributed to "vapor lock" by many. If loosening, or venting, the cap does not solve the problem - you don't have a tank venting problem. Then it is time to start working thru the whole list of other things which can make a scooter engine run rough or stall.
