Is the Buddy manual as funny as th Black Cat/Rattler manual?

Post by afriendofcheese »

Just wondering. Clearly some poor translation here, but it makes for a good chuckle!

One of my favorite sections, exactly as it is written:

1. The inspection should be proceeded before every riding. The above inspection can be done in very short time but worth more than the time you would have spent.

2. During the inspection, if any abnormal is found, please try to fix it to good condition or, carry it to your dealers for help.

Yes, inspections can be short but still take very long.

And carrying a scooter to the dealer? Thats easy, it's only 300 pounds and the dealer is only 60 miles away! :D

Yes, the translations are very poor, the person who did it probably cant understand/read much English or Taiwanese, I can understand both, but I cant read Taiwanese.

And I quote:
1. "the equipments depand on the actual vehicle."
2. "When the blinker switch is shifted, this indicator will flash and tickling."
3. "If engine has been operating over a long time. The luggage comp. become hot. Do not put luggage in the temperature."
4. "Do not try to ride, idle or stop on the surface of inflammable."
5. "Please acting the break for checking. If the indicator almost reach the disk, please ask your dealers to change it." (Wow, thats polite)
6. "In order to avoid falling down, please park your scooter firmly will be safe."

Nice Todd! Those aren't in my manual. Here's another goodie regarding the spark plug:

"Please take off the spark plug after a period of time because it will be corroded & worn out due to the hotess and dirt for the time being."

Do you guys have the correct and "incrrect" pictures for how to park the scoot correctly? The incrrect way has a cartoon of a dog getting burned by the muffler. The warning note says to "please park the scooter far from the child and redestrians to avoid them touching it."

I wonder if PGO or Genuine would pay someone good $$ to translate these things correctly?
