There's the Slaughterhouse Rally on Labor Day weekend, this is our 14th year for that.

If you want to help plan that, email Kathy at Kathader76(AT)gmail(DOT)com, we could use all the help we can get.

There are also several other smaller rallies in the area, and once this endless winter finally f**ks off, clubs and individuals plan rides almost every weekend. Are you on the Chicago scooter list?

We've all sort of been planning our summer there. : )

Cool, please get involved! After 14 years, we could use some new blood and new ideas. Slaughterhouse I (1995!) was my first rally, and I've been to every one since. The rally has "changed hands" a few times since, but I've been involved in planning most of them. I keep saying I'm not going to do it this year, but I'm sure I'll end up helping with something. ; )

The CHIscooterlist is a bit "social" (high-traffic and way off-topic) so if you just want to know about events, join the Events list, it's a notify-only list, we post stuff there after we plan it on the other list. If you're looking to plan something yourself (great!), feel free to post it to the Events list, though you might want to run it past the main list first to see if there's anything else going on that day.

Yeah, somehow I miss Slaughterhouse every year (ok, well the last two since I've had a scooter)....but this year I WILL attend!!

...first I have to charge my dead battery! (didn't think there'd be SO much time where I couldn't ride this winter..haven't stepped on it since mid January)

Time to get a battery tender.

Hey Chris, long time no see!

I saw a Blur on Grand Ave last week when it was well below freezing, but it wasn't you. So there must be 3 of us in Chicago now!

I hadn't ridden since probably November... I rode to Home Depot in the sleet on Sunday just because I couldn't take waiting anymore. (and my wife had the car.)

Yeah I've been in hibernation mode for a while, but perhaps I'll poke around a bit more now.

Btw, there's definitely more than three of us. Last summer I started seeing a black/grey 07 blur around my neighborhood and found out the guy lives on the next block from me. Never caught up with him though. I'd always either see it parked out front, or I'd be on foot when he whizzed by.

At first I couldn't tell whether it made me happy or upset having another "bluristo" in the neighborhood....my neighborhood. Lol.
But in the end, the excitement of seeing another blur overcame my slight feelings of territoriality. Haha

I've considered leaving a note or something to go ride...maybe I will, if it's still around come spring.
