Modern Buddy

For my wife's 2008 125, I decided it was the dreaded TIRE TIME.
Only 2,000 miles on the ORIGINAL tires! Which were dated 2008.

Using Google, I searched for 3.5-10 tires.
Lots of on-line sites were OUT of them.

Finally I found Chapparal Motorsports. Great.

The 2 Shinkos were listed at $0.18 EACH. I am not kidding.

They arrived the NEXT DAY. With an invoice for $10.38 total! ($9.99 shipping and $0.03 AL tax for Meemaw Ivey)

I guess this must be one of those "Easter Eggs"?

As soon as swimbo's garage sale is done, I will install them and let you know how it goes.

While I have missed emotions with Shinko tires (we call them Sh*#kos) that is a GREAT deal! Did good on that find! Just check the date code to make sure their not old/dead stock and their not blems. I heard a rumor that Shinko is no longer making motorcycle/scooter tires as there's more money in automobile tires. Never confirmed said rumor. Also, I found all Onguard locks marked down 80% in the clearance section because Wal-Mart replaced them with another brand.

When I went to the link, they had one left, same price, so I bought it.. I may have bought the last one.. I need to check back in a few days to see if they found more of them.

I bought "a few" on the 20th. I still haven't received an email to let me know that they have shipped. So as of right now I am just waiting to see if I will get some tires.

If I do get some tires I plan to mount a pair and put them through their paces then write up a review.

The date code is late 2020 Good enough.

I wish I'd bought a crapload of them! And resold on fleabay.

The savings on two tires (about $60-80) was partially eaten away by going to local multi dealer and buying 2 rt. angle valve stems, turns out that they are GEN-YOO-WINE Honda parts Gold-plated I guess. Well, the old ones were originals, 13 yrs. old, so time to replace I guess.

Can confirm- I'm the guy that bought the last one available. Perfect timing too as I damaged the tire and bent the bejeezus out of my upgraded Buddy 125's rear rim after putting on a 161cc kit and doing some testing. It arrived today, $10.19, after $9.99 shipping and two cents of tax. Great tire, I have a pair on my other Buddy 125.

I just this minute received the shipping notice that the one tire I ordered on May 22 has now shipped. I checked just now to see if they had any more, and there were two more left, so I ordered those two. The ordering system said "last two".

So they dropped the price to $0.18 each and make it up on volume?

Nobody mentioned the age of these tires. Are they, perhaps, too old to sell through retail outlets?

I received the shipping notice overnight for the two I ordered on June 2. Looks like they are coming from Memphis, and haven't been picked up yet by the FEDEX tracking system, but are due to arrive tomorrow according to the status, so that sounds like an overnight Sunday delivery. The single one I ordered a week before is coming from Bloomington, CA, and is moving along through the FedEx network, due to arrive here on Tuesday.

I believe the deal is at an end. I just had an order canceled. I guess someone finally noticed.

EDIT: The deal is done, on 6/8 at ~10am the tires are now on sale for $37.88.

The one I ordered on May 22 arrived in good shape yesterday, and the two I ordered on June 3 are now this morning showing "On FedEx vehicle for delivery " so I should see them today.

The two I ordered on June 3 did arrive today. I now pretty much have a lifetime supply.. also a good tire for Yamaha Vino 125s.

I just went through the ones I got and the oldest date was 4920. Most of them were made this year.

I would be willing to bet they lost a lot of money on this mistake, not only did they lose money on the $0.18 price but shipping costs had to be outrageous. I went on the FedEx website and figured it would cost me ~$100 to send a similar size and weight package as what they shipped me for $9.99. Even if they get a discount it was still a lot more than $9.99.

My theory is these tires were supposed to be on sale for 18% off but someone screwed up and entered .18 as the price(it should have been $41.95-41.95x.18=$34.39.)

My first set is mounted up and ready to be scuffed in.

Wait, so is 10$ for the shipment of 2 tires a lot? Tbh, I wouldn't say that it's that expensive. Besdies, they did ship both of the tires to your doors, right? Or maybe the delivery system is just cheaper there. Where I'm from delivery services usually charge you for about 8$ at least. The size of your package doesn't matter. It would always be 8$. But in these past few years I started ordering stuffs from packages24.com and tbh I really like their service. They charge less and they ship internationally.

Yes, for a couple of weeks you could get two tires for under $11 shipped to your door. But the sale is over now.

I thought I was doing well picking up two Kendas for $56.00 shipped. I've had trouble finding the tires I usually buy for my C3.

I ordered a new front Pirelli Angel for my Liberty and its 2 months out before I receive it. Glad my front OEM tire is still considered safe to ride. I've been hearing of delays but didn't think they were that serious.
