cleaned carb after stalling issue after acceleration. Now it runs really smooth at idle and when accelerating. Just can't get past 40 mph though. Didn't adjust anything except the idle...thoughts???
Even before when it had the stalling issue after accelerating and then stopping I could easily hit 60 +
Appreciate any help...
Thanls!

Your diaphragm isn't properly seated in the carb. Take the cover off, and re-seat the diaphragm, making sure that is has a good seal to the carb body. When air leaks past the diaphragm, it won't raise the needle high enough for full throttle operation.

forgot to ask, is there some kind of sealant etc that I can use to make sure the diaphragm is fully seated?

You shouldn't need any sealant. Some people use a tiny bit of grease to help get it into place. If you do use a sealant you will have to clean it up down the road when the diaphragm wears out and needs to be replaced.
