I haven't heard much, I don't pay too much attention to new gas scooters. I'm 99% convinced that my next scooter will be electric.

But that doesn't stop me from having opinions on this scooter :)

#1 I'm sure glad to see 12" wheels. My 150 seems like it's pushing the limits of what 10" wheels should be asked to do, I don't think I'd want to ride a Buddy 170i.

#2 I find it disingenuous to market a scooter with a 168.9cc engine as a "200i".

We have been trying to figure out if the Urbano 200 and Buddy 170i have the same engine.

The SYM engine should be a nice mill. They Powered the Lance Cabo 200.

Interesting. Low price point. Looks a lot like the Vespa GT200.

It’s not the touring scoot of Genuine legend, but good to have a larger-displacement model in the lineup.

Hi guys, I’m looking into getting a buddy, but can’t decide which (i formerly had a Stella 2t and Stella 4t).
I asked about the Urbano, because i was a little confused about the name 200i, as it seemed (based on the website) that it had the same engine as the 170i, and I was curious why it wasn’t just called the urbano 170i? here’s the of their reply along with a screenshot of their website on the two scooters. (Sorry, can’t get photo to load, so here’s the text):

“The Buddy 170 and the Urbano 200 do not have the same motor. The Urbano 200 makes significantly more power and torque than the Buddy 170. Rear wheel peak horsepower on an Urbano is 10.5 HP versus the Buddy 170 at 7 HP. The Urbano has a much larger chassis with a higher seat height, longer wheel base and more room for both passengers. Urbano 200 has dual disc brakes. Buddy 170 has only front disc brake.”

I’m looking forward to seeing a road test. I’m glad the seat is flat, so taller riders can slide back a bit.
