Hello All,
I've got my gas tank and new hoses ran. idles and runs perfect for 20 min and then cuts out. rest for 5 min, pop the gas cap open and replace. shes good for another 20 min. I think its a vacuum line issue. The previous owner removed everything from the tank to the carb, head line was plugged with a bolt and zip tie. So I'm trying to figure it out.....
At the bottom of the petcock is a vacuum line to the ECC? where exactly does it connect? I currently have the head hose running all the way back to the petcock/pump. Looks like it should be tied in the air manifold just behind the carb. I may be missing a union or "Y" connector here? How does the ecc get pressure?
Does the ECC draw or blow? I currently have it blowing directly to the bottom of the petcock.
I'll try and load a few picks for reference once I return (if I return) from a neighbor kids skating party I was volentold to be at and participate in...... lol
Thanks in advance!

The bottom of your petcock should run to the nipple on the intake manifold. The petcock does not tie into the EVAP crap. You have a steel gas tank? There is a nipple on the top of the tank. There is a hose running from it ending up into the canister. The other end hooks into your airbox tube between the air filter and the engine. Remove this hose and cap it. Get to the top of your tank and run a hose off the nipple straight down. Another option is drill a couple of offset 1/16" holes in your gas cap.

So I can bypass the ecc thing and put a one way air valve on it maybe?

You don't need any additonal valve. Remove the hose I pictured, and cap it there. Run a hose from the nipple on your tank hanging down the left side of the scooter. This vents the tank and prevents vapor lock. I still have my cap drilled as an extra vent. Remove canister, check valve, etc... and throw in the dumpster.

Hey DeeDee,
So far its running like a top! I might put a 1/4 turn stop on the end of the vent hose for winter storage, but I feel good about it.
Thanks for your help!

You're welcome. It doesn't need that. Have the hose run long enough to just clear the crankcase on the left side.
