Bike RPM app
I found an Android app called Bike RPM that seems to work well. It analyzes the exhaust sound and tells you what the rpm is. I thought my buddy 50 was idling high. It was 2200 hot. Lowered it to 1900

That's Star Trek tech! I use a clip on the plug wire tach for RPM monitoring. I'll have to look this phone tach up one day just to see how it compares.

Yeah, I might get an actual tach, or timing light as well. The app seems to be right though, it seems to work best out in the open and not in a garage.

I have a tach that has a clamp you put on the plug wire for a chainsaw. It obviously works best on a 2-stroke. I'll try to get a pic of it when I find it. I gave away all my 2-stroke and random 4-stroke tuning parts but kept all the tuning tools and related diagnostic stuff. I also have have a Vapor digital dash with all the options rotting in a box "somewhere" in the vortex called a garage. I do have one friend that might have grabbed it but he's out to sea so I have no way of asking. A few of my friends have a key to the garage and house and can come by anytime to work on their scoots or borrow tools. The house key is for bathroom and washing up after working on something. In the corner of the garage is the "Help yourself box" of stuff no longer needed. There is a good chance that Trail Tech Vapor dash ended up in that box.
I still might pick-up a Rough House before they quit importing them. My love of ebikes is strong though, plus my wife will remind me of why I walked away from 2-strokes in the first place. But a 2-stroke will always stay in your heart no matter what you own.
