What temperature do they run?
For those that had temperature gauges on their buddy 50. Just derestricted, is there any reason to worry about overheating? I understand that the 70cc kits can overheat.

Reason to worry? Yes. Two-strokes rely heavily on the incoming fuel to cool the cylinder and if the upsized engine turns out to be jetted too lean, they overheat and seize. Temperatures generally shouldn’t be above 200F at idle or 300F at full throttle. They make sensors that are little collars that go between the spark plug base and the head. You can remove them once the jetting is set properly and well-tested.

This little guy works pretty well for checking engine health. It has a max temp setting (in C) that will flash the screen red if exceeded. Pretty useful when checking a jetting setup.

At what point does a hobby become an addiction? I'm uncertain, but after the twelfth scooter, it sorta feels like the latter...
