Buddy 170 oil cooler photo request

If anyone with a Buddy 170 has a few minutes could you take a close up picture of the oil cooler and the area where the cooler attaches to the scooter. Also, could you take a picture of the oil lines where they come out of the engine and how they route around the exhaust.
Thanks in advance.
The reason I ask is because I am installing a 170 in a 125 frame and I am trying to figure out how to mount the oil cooler and how the oil lines route.

I don't have a 170i, but I can reach out to a friend to get pics of their setup.
In the interim, I can get you some details from the 150, since it uses the same oil cooler and same holes in the block. The key difference is in how the cooler is mounted. On the 150, the cooler is mounted behind the battery box with the oil filter facing aft. On the 170i, the cooled is mounted ahead of the battery box, with the filter facing forward. Both installs use the same bolts and the same skid plate.

- 150 cooler mount.
The cooler held on by two M8 x 75mm bolts. It is about 65mm thick at the mounting bosses and the bolt holes are 72mm apart. On the 150, there is a mounting boss welded to a frame cross member that holds the cooler below the frame tubes. On the 170i, there is a plate welded on just aft of the frame tubes junction, where one of the VIN plates resides.

- Oil cooler viewed from above. 150 oil lines shown.
There are two M10 threaded holes in the front of the block, below the cylinder and offset towards the stator side. I'll check the flow direction when I install my cooler, but I believe the one closest to the stator is the feed from the oil pump.

- Oil line bosses on the block. Note the location near the exhaust. The oil lines route around the exhaust towards the CVT side and pass over the center stand frame before connecting to the cooler.

Thanks for the info. Since I can't weld it looks like the only way I could mount the oil cooler is to bolt it to the piece of metal that holds the VIN plate, I hope it will be strong enough to hold the oil cooler.

Does your 125 frame have the bracket behind the battery box like a 150? Maybe you could use a 150 cooler?
Having looked at a bit now, I'm not super impressed with the factory cooler. The fin structure helps carry heat away from the main body, but it doesn't allow for pass-through cooling like a normal oil cooler. I suspect that a Koso cooler kit with a remote filter mount would be more effective, lighter and easier to mount.

I don't think so.
