coming up on 10K miles (result of lurking and reading this forum for sure) and needed to do a routine carb clean after some bogging began to occur. Did a fairly thorough clean, got everything to seat correctly, still bogging, almost worse. Realized I was missing the little plastic piece that sits inside the diaphragm screw above the jet needle.

Could this be the cause of major bogging? I don't think it was in there previously when I had it ripping... Guess I don't fully understand what it even does given its location.

Going to take it back off and do a more thorough cleaning to see if that helps, but any insights you gentlemen have (even on replacement ideas) would be appreciated.

Which piece are you missing, and when did it go missing? Only way to answer your question for sure is to get the missing piece(s) and put it in: http://www.scooterloungeonline.com/buddy125carburetor If the scooter is ridden regularly, and has not sat for an extended period, your problems could be caused by something not carb related.
