Just fixed gas gauge, new fuel filter, fuel lines, etc etc
Buttoned it up. Washed it. Shut seat. Didn't latch. Shut it harder. Latched.
Now won't open. Not with the key. Not with my emergency seat release cable.
So, what it the most sensible next step. Quit for the day. Pondering...

Managed to remove the forward hinge bolt. Maybe can reach through to the latch. Not a lot of space though...

Used a long rod to tap the latch, it popped open. Will install new latch.
Although disabling the latching function is a great idea!

Is the latch bent? Cable binding? A little lube and manipulation with a screwdriver might fix the issue.

Did you try removing the front legshield and pulling on the cable?

Something is wrong with the latch. Easiest to order, wait......, and install a new one
