Buddy Pamplona ..... OMG!!!!!

Post by Ms. Milan »

I just returned from a Pamplona test drive. Now coming from a Vespa PX150 I found the bike lighter, which was a plus for me. I was flat footed on the Vespa until I changed the seat to the king queen seat. I am on my toes on the Pamplona. But thats ok.

Once I took her for a spin, OMG!!!! I know they say the speedo is generous, but I got up to 50mph no problem with the throttle half way. Sweet sweet ride. I probably would have pushed more, but it was cold out and I had no gloves and only wearing a sweatshirt. I really wanted to see some more, but my hands were too cold. I had no problem merging into traffic from a full stop. She kept up like a champ. The Pamplona has some serious kick out the box. Braking was great. I had to do some tight u-turns in some parking lots and I had not problem.

And that horn. Awesome. Loud....you would not think it came from a scoot. I pay off my balance on Saturday, JD and Corsair from SAT will dress her up a little (rear rack, crash bar w/foot peg and windscreen ) and thats all she wrote. :D

That poor bike doing 50mph without a break in :( The pain it must feel!

Haha just kidding, I'm sure it's ok to go 50mph if your not broken in yet, but not to cruise at it for a long period. Glad you like the buddy, now go buy one :)

Excellent! I haven't seen the internationals in person yet, but I can tell they are all real attention grabbers.
I was going to ask who helped you at Scoot Around. Corsair is the shop's Buddy expert (yeah, I know I'm more than a little biased, so what)

Corsair indeed. He can testify to the big smile on my face when I was done with the test drive. When I glanced down at the speedo and saw 50 I was surprised. With the throttle at half I wasn't expecting it. I loved it. I am not sure when you two will be heading to warmer climates, but if you are still around when it gets warmer, you all have to come down to Ann Arbor for a meet up. I would love to meet you before you leave. Corsair, thats a keeper. Good luck with the move. And keep in touch.

I'm already in Austin, and hopefully he will be on his way this weekend. I'm so glad that the Pamploma lived up to your expectations. Buddys are multiplying on the board faster than rabbits! Spring is lovely :)

Today was great (even in the rain)

Ms. Milan + Buddy 150 = HUGE :D

It was so good seeing you again! People always find it hard to believe me when I tell them how great the Buddy is... that is until they try it themselves! The Buddy is even better now with the bigger engine option and LOUDER horn. OMG you all should have seen how many times she pressed the horn... HAHAHAHA! I really had a good time today. Your son is too cool. He was talking about the Buddy while you were riding :) You know he's going to be a scooter addict when he gets old enough

By the way, has anyone noticed how the Buddy just gets better every year? That really shows just how much Genuine listens to their consumers. I have to give them respect for that.

Ok Corsair, she's not telling me anything I didn't already know. :P That's cool you have a Scooterist-in-Training!! I'm sure you're setting a great example.

Since it was done half throttle, I'm sure the buddy is fine :)

If it was full throttle where it wont turn no more, even on a broken in bike, that would hurt the poor thing :(

Good news on the buy, I remember you came here a week or two ago selling the px, it sold quick, and now your onto a new world of scooters, buddies :)

oh also, the longer mirrors now come on the new Buddy. Makes a world of difference! If you have a 06/07 I highly suggest swapping your mirrors for the extended ones.

Today is going to be pretty clear and sunny so if anyone else wants to come down to check one out (and wish me good luck ...lol) today would be a great day for it.

Thanks for the post. I hope to hear more about the 150 Buddy throughout the summer. I just might want to upgrade my 125 Buddy.
