Pictures with chrome rack?

Post by teacherquinn »

Anyone have pictures of the Buddy with the optional chrome rack? I'm thinking I may want to swap the original for the chrome. Thoughts?

Blocked by a rear case, but you can see the sides of it.

Thanks to ranpianoman for the picture

Chrome Rack

Post by Laura »

It is a great rack, looks very pretty...
I have a Givi top case on my 2006 Black/chromed Buddy 125.

I'm going to put the chrome crash bars on my new 08 St. Tropez 150 cc...
mostly for the Cannonball.

That red and chrome looks awesome, maybe my orange buddy would like nice with chrome, but I got a black rack.

I'm adding the chrome cowl protectors to my Pamplona too... I really like the way it looks.

can anyone advise me: if I order them from scooter works will it be really easy to install myself, or should I have my dealer do it?

I got mine from Scooterworks and the installation is simple if you can use a phillips screwdriver. They come with good installation instructions.

I just went out to the garage and checked my bars. They also required a 10mm wrench, a cresent (adjustable) wrench would work and an allen wrench that might have been included with the package. Anyway it was still a simple installation.

will I need to remove my rear rack first or does it install "over" the rack?

I'm sure that will be in the instructions, I just figured I'd ask. :)

The chrome cowl protectors & rear rack go together, I think they're talking about that silver & black plastic grab bar thing, right? Or did yours come with a black rear rack?

yeah sorry...I kinda hijacked this thread...didn't intend for that to happen.

I have replaced the original rear grab bar with the chrome rear rack and installed a top case.

I want to install the chrome cowl protectors too. I know they attach at the same spot as the chrome rear rack so I was just wondering which one installs first (below the other)...so I would know if I need to remove the rack or just put the cowl protectors over.

BUT, do get this thread back on track, I have a chrome rear rack but it's somewhat un-see-able under the topcase. here it is though:

The screw for the rear rack goes into the cowl protector too. Really, the rear rack itself is a big piece which holds the cowl protector onto the back end of the buddy.

it suppose to be simple and looks simple but it's a huge pain in the butt to do if they send you ones that do quite align right. It makes getting the screw for the back rack back in very hard to do.
