Tomorrow's my big day

Post by jfrost2 »

Tomorrow I take my bike back to my dealer for a oil change, the first 200 miles change, but I actually rode 240 miles...

Anyways, I put the bike in the back of my family's van, strapped the handle bars to the front headrest, it seems like it's pretty sturdy. I had to use the side stand because the bike lunges back with the center stand, and it being lunged I cant push it forward. I pushed the bike back and forth to make sure it wouldnt tip over, all the weight if forced to the left, so it should be A-ok when I go.

Just have the nightmare if we hit a pot hole and the bike falls. Cant really get out and fix it in a tiny van.

Wish me luck! I'll be bringing it home the same way after my oil change tomorrow!

I am guessing you are removing the seats to fit it in the van, right?
If your van has hook latches where the seats would have locked onto the floor, that is a much better place to hook up your straps and load the suspension down. That will prevent it from moving.
Beer is the answer . . . what was the question?

Well I made it. My bike didnt fall over and everything went alright. Seth at metro scooter said my bike looks very nice mechanically and that it is running fine. He checked everything and changed my oil in one hour.

My next oil change/service is at 2,300 miles, but he said since I live far away, I could check the basic stuff myself and change my own oil.

I racked up 250+ miles in 2 weeks, and that was with cold weather of 20-30 degrees, now this past week has been warmer, I put most of my miles on this past week. Now this next week is getting EVEN warmer, I may have to change my oil in a few days! haha just kidding, but for a DIY move job, my bike fit in my van perfect, it stood up with the side stand and straps, traveling 1.5 hours away back and forth wasnt easy, the way home smelled like gasoline the entire time, even with the windows open.

But what I didnt know until I turned my bike on from kick starting it, my gas tank was full :) They filled my gas tank and it wasnt even on my bill! :D

The dealer told me yesterday to have it back at 200 miles for the first change.
