my wife's buddy is faster than mine

Post by robtaylor »

if i have passed the first part of this story on at some other time please forgive me. (long story very short) i bought my wife a used 2006 buddy for $1700 and when i took it to the local shop to have it checked out they told me the engine was shot from improper lubirication. tulsa scooters mechanic happened to have a wrecked buddy and i bought the motor and tranny and etc for $300. my wife has ridden it 2 times since we got it back from the shop and i was feeling bad for the neglected buddy. so i took it for a ride yesterday trying to break the motor in (the motor had 54 miles on it when it was transfered over) i was really surprised pulling down the drive way that the scooter really purrs deeper than mine, when i took off there was power. i could tell right away that the buddy had more get up than mine does. throughout the ride it seemed obvious that this 2006 buddy was faster than my 2007 buddy.

oh yeah btw the 2006 buddy has a 2007 motor in it, can anyone shed any light on this. maybe my 2007 just needs a tune-up?

If you are both taking the same care of your scoots, maybe yours has lube probs too? :?: Really I have no idea... I say Switch body panels with her while she's gone and no one will be the wiser!

im far from mechanically inclined but i think if the air filter has gotten too dirty in can decrease performance.
