BEWARE OF EMAIL SCAMMERS
a while back i posted about a stella with sidecar; i made it clear that i was not the owner and just posting the link out of possible interest to someone here. well, look at the email i received today (on this site):
Hello
I am interested in buying the stella with sidecar that you have placed for sell now, and I would want to enquire about the present condition of the above mentioned, as well as some detail about you. I expect this timely enough.
As for the payment, I would need you to get back in touch with the last asking price as I will be paying with a certified cheque.
Lastly, please forward to me your full company's (or house address, telephone and fax) details as I will subsequently prefer reaching you through these facilities.
Yours interestingly,
Raymond Griffiths
Should you need to reply to me, Please get back in touch with your
details to me at:[email protected] for a quick reply.

this is nothing but one of those scammers trying to get money laundered. you see these reports all the time on t.v.
if you ever get one of these emails, don't get sucked in; do not do business with these type of individuals. they will take your money and you have no way of tracking them down. just beware, please.
my daughter had put something up for sale on craigslist and was approached by this same sort of scammer. in a *very* convoluted plan, they wanted her to take a check they mailed to her for well over the asking price of the item, then take a cut of the money for herself, and mail him the difference. this was all to be done via an *attorney*. this person was supposedly in england.
she asked for my advice and i told her to have absolutely no part of this sort of crap. fortunately, she took my advice. a couple days later there was a story on the local news about a fair number of people who fell for the 'something for nothing' scheme. except the person who ended up getting the something for nothing was the scammer. they made off with all the people's monies.
just a word of warning. like the saying goes, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

This same person sent a suspicious PM to another member.
I've suspended their account and will be taking some other steps to deal with this.
Anything like this happens, feel free to email me at [email protected]. If it happens in a post, you can use the "report post" button (looks like an exclamation point).

Eh... what a jerk. Problem is, we can't ferret out these folks until they start sending messages. But he's banned. I banned his IP, too.
BUT, it's possible he could re-register. The email he provided for registration was not the one in his messages. So everyone should continue to use common sense and their best judgement.
