Pink Buddy Interior

I am considering changing my pink interior on my Buddy with a black interior. I know it will look like a Good & Plenty, but as it is now, it's soooo pink. Don't get me wrong, I love pink or I wouldn't have bought it, but I also like the idea of the two tone. My question is this, does anyone know how hard it is to take the interior off and replace with the other one? The dealership wanted $250.00 to do it and that included the parts. I just thought if it was a matter of unscrewing a few pieces I might be able to handle that. I did read on here that a guy painted the interior of his Sunset Buddy with that Plastic Spray paint and it turned out great, I just worry about how that will hold up with every day wear and tear. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Buy the kit yourself for 99 dollars from scootrichmond.com, do it in 1 hour yourself. Very easy.

An hour sounds good, but how do I find out how to do it? I contacted Scooterworks last week and they said they didn't know if they had one in the warehouse...they've never gotten back to me.

Buy it from scootrichmond.com in the buddy body parts category.

I'm not sure how you do it step by step, but I know you can begin by taking off the big screw under the seat in the interior, then taking off the passenegr foot rest, theres a screw or two, that is keeping that huge black piece down, unscrew those and the that piece pops right off exposing a few more screws you can remove.

It was scooterrichmond.com I contacted, not scooterworks. Sorry. They said they may have one in the warehouse, but they would have to look and then get back to me with a price. Apparently they're not going by the $99.95 price that's posted on the website. I never heard back from them anyway.

There are exploded views of the body panels in the Buddy Parts Diagram that show where all the screws and tabs are attached.

Try phoning Scooterworks for the parts.

And if no one has them, you can always just paint!

I did think about painting with Krylon Fusion, just not sure how it would hold up. Thanks for your help.

So far, members have had Krylon Fusion paint jobs hold up quite well for over a year. I haven't done it myself, though am coming up with ideas for our pink Buddy.

i painted the interior panels of my pink buddy with pink krylon spray (because the color was fading with the original paneling).

i did that roughly two months ago and it looks great. the only thing i have noticed were some scuffs or scratches on the edges of the panels from when i was trying to stick them back on. otherwise the paint is holding up great and the clear coat really adds a nice gloss.

Sailortot, so it sounds like you took it all apart and painted it. Was it a big job? I was thinking of using black paint, but since you said you can see little spots from putting it back together, maybe black wouldn't be such a great idea over that light pink. Hmmm...maybe I should think of another color combo. Any ideas anyone??

Red interior, pink exterior, white seat and grips. You'll be ready for Valentine's Day!

Have you tried using anything black..like cut up a black plastic garbage bag and tape it to the inside panels that you wanted painted/replaced and see if you like it all black?

Leave it on for a couple days and make sure this is what you really want.

Pink or Black??

That's a good idea, thanks. I'll try that because I'm having a hard time imagining what it will look like. I love the idea of the two tone, but going from soft pink to black is a serious change! If I hate it then I'm screwed.

If anyone has photos of a pink scoot with black interior, I would love to see them.

You can also go totally '80s and do pink and grey!!!

I'm also a fan of the pink and brown combo, but not sure how to arrange the colors on the Buddy.

*shrug*

I acutally thought of grey or brown. Love brown and pink together, but with black handgrips, seat (I know I can change them too) and a black floor, didn't think that would look good. The grey and pink would loook good and actually go with the black and silver on the Buddy. Thanks for the suggestions. Now I'm really considering the brown....with a sweet seatcover.

Do you have white seat or black seat?

Do you have topcase or saddlebags?

No saddlebags on the Buddy in this photo, but when the black saddlebags are on there gets to be less and less pink showing.

I have a black rack in the back and was going to order the Genuine Topcase in Pink. I don't have any saddlebags or front rack.

Maybe I should just leave well enough alone and leave it all pink, just wish they had two toned the pink one like they did the cream. The cream one is really sharp.

Oh my god!! I love the two tone pink! I may have to go to Canada to get one. How hard do you think it would be to bring back into the States?

Oh my gosh!! That is just damned adorable. I love the two tone pink with the black. I truly appreciate your sharing that with me, I do want to do the black now, but of course I'm wondering what parts I can paint a little darker pink.....then do the interior black. It's so darn sweet!! I saw a pretty light raspberry color spray paint, but that would be too much of an extreme. I think I'm gonna have to play around with different pinks now. THANKS AGAIN!!

You could probably call a Canadian dealer and have them order and ship you the lighter panels to add your your current scoot. It's shouldn't be too pricey.

What if you ordered the front fender or whatever the cheapest panel is to see if you like the darker pink?

I really like the two-tone; the white tires add to it too.

Is that something that could be available in US in 2009 since they discontinued the solid Pink in 2008?

Image

Maybe the Two-Tone Pink would look nice w/out the black interior panels but change the light Pink panels to the darker Pink panels on the front lower fender, main front panel, etc. Like on the look of the St Tropez and Italia.

Anyone have photo shop or the like that could try it on a photo for the look and it post it?

Could? Yes. But I doubt even Genuine has decided their palette for next year's Buddys yet.

For this particular color scheme--two-tone pink--I REALLY think the grey would look that much better than the black.

Got it!,How about a fluorescent 2-tone raspberry color! Then use a light black for the interior panels. Your all set....

I did one of these up with white grips and a white seat. It stands out and sold right away.
