I didn't want to hijack the
"What to wear for gear when it's 100 outside?" thread, so I'm starting another. Besides upping the temps, it's a very similar question.
It was 110 today in PHX metro. In anticipation I was looking for a summer jacket when I stumbled across the Core Cooler (sorry for the long link:

Has anyone ever used one? 110 in mid May doesn't bode well for the Arizona summer, so I'm looking for any help.
Help!

When I lived in Tucson I used one of these:

It worked great BUT it has to be soaked in water beforehand and will make your shirt damp.

I don't believe people mind a damp shirt if they are kept a bit cooler in extreme temps. I have supplied these to operaotrs and maintenance people to use here in the Florida heat and humidity. They are available as head bands and neck bands also. They are used in certain process areas where temps are as high as 140 degrees F. Requests for them soar in July and August. Some users have placed a couple in a refrigerator or ice chest before donning. They are effective but don't expect miracles.

It's interesting, I found they worked MUCH better in the dry heat of AZ than they do here in the humidity of IL. I don't use mine anymore so I'm having a friend put them up on ebay for me.
