I hope the Buddy doesn't catch me throwing wayward glances at that machine.

Until I actually rode a 50cc scooter, I really wanted Zuma. 50cc just wasn't enough.
125 Zuma... I probably would have bought it.

Can somebody give me directions back to the Modern Buddy site?
Seems like I fell into some sort of well where all the dwellers are Yamahamians.
Zumas are cool, but $3000 before taxes etc. is a bit much. C'mon. It's not that much of a cult is it?

one of the things on my "things to do list" if i ever won the lottery is...
to run the Baja 500 on a Zuma, just to say i did it!

It would've been a tough call between my Rattler and a 125cc Zuma... but the 2 stroke would've won me over. Plus the 2t runs great on any gas you can find, the 10.0:1 compression on the Yamaha 4 stroke would need 91 octane

88 mpg? Thats it? I'm getting 90-100 miles per gallon on my buddy.

This may or may not show my ignorance, but isn't fuel injection a rare configuration for this category of ride?

European pollution regs are already stricter than ours. Fuel injection is pretty much the way to go to meet their (and our upcoming) regs, so expect to see it everywhere. For example, all 2008 Harley Davidson motorcycles are fuel injected. Carbs aren't gone yet, but they're on the way out.

Whoa! So my Buddy 125 has a carb?
I guess I'm an engine noob, but I thought if it had oil injection (instead of 2-stroke) that it also had fuel injection.
My understanding (now proven wrong by reading my manual) was that a 4-stroke meant fuel injection.
SOOOO, I guess I do have to worry about gumming up the carb when I let it sit. And I might have to use carb cleaner.
What about adding fuel additives to keep stuff clean?
Does this also mean I can rejet (whatever that means) my carb and put in a better spark plug?
AND a spoiler?

This site has the
C3 listed under scooter models and all the specs and price are for the US. I think your dream may be coming true, Krusty.
For $2100, a 50cc toolbox on wheels can be yours!

We appreciate many types of scooters and MCs around here. I'm not particularly big on the Yamahas, but to each their own!

Very funny, I was thinking it looks more like a cooler than a toolbox. Anyways, they've had the C3 in the US for a while, I'm just waiting for a 125-200cc version... It will probably never happen and the model will become
even less popular than it already is and be discontinued. Oh well, I accept the reality of it. It's just a cryin shame....

Oh I hate choices sometimes! The Zuma in a 125! The TMAX!! Yamaha is my other love-must resist temptation!

I'm betting it's probably similar to the 125 Vino.
Which is terrible.
I'll stick to my smokey 2 stroke 150.

Where do you think the price of the Buddy is headed? And real soon, I'd guess. The International is already easily over the top.

im guessing the fuel injection has a little to do with the $2999 price tag.

You might lose that bet. See the comparo from the Yamaha site below. The engines are clearly entirely different; 4-valve vs 2-valve, different bore and stroke, EFI vs carb, higher compression ratio. The one thing that does suck is the Zuma still has a drum rear brake.

I actually was just reading that.
I hope it's not bad then.
I still would probably take a buddy over one.

Looks like I might be holding out for that Yammi. I have always liked the Zuma.
