If not Loctite, then what?

Post by charlie55 »

Hi all:

While tearing my Blur down following a spill, I noticed quite a few loose screws and bolts. Now I know that Loctite is the preferred method of keeping fasteners from backing out due to vibration. However, the instructions advise against it's use on plastic parts. So, using it where a metal fastener attaches to another metal object (i.e., bolt to frame, nut on bolt, etc.) is fine. However, what would be best in situations (mostly on body panels) where a sheet metal screw fastens to a "fold clip" that's been clipped onto a plastic tab? Also, how would I deal with screws that merely tap into the plastic itself?

Thanks for any help you can provide.
