scootering safely into Chicago
Wow this forum's active right now! I go away for about a week and whammy!
But back to the point. I want to ride up to north Chicago from home (Bloomington-Normal IL) and the "avoid highways" route from Google suggests a 4 hour ride! Part of the length appears to be taking Kingery Hwy to Brookwood. Is there a quicker (yet safe) way to get to the north side by scooter? Or am I just in for 8 hours of saddle-sitting?
Thanks,
RedCass

Old Route 66 (Turns into Ogden once you get near the city) runs right downtown. I know several scooterists have ridden that from here to California on old bikes.
2strokebuzz: When news breaks, we put it under a tarp in the garage.

This is actually not that far north--in fact, it's exactly due west of Wrigley Field by about 20 minutes.redcass wrote:Well, not Waukegan, but I'm not sure of the neighborhood. The closest El stop is Addison (Blue Line), so is that Lincoln Park?MikieTaps wrote:are you trying to go to "North Chicago" the city by waukegan, or North side of "Chicago" ie... edgewater, lincoln park?
