New rider curious about the Xena locks

Hi guys,

Long time listener first time caller. Just put the deposit on my buddy
today and looking forward to riding it in a few weeks. I was curious how
many people have the Xena lock/alarm and what your experience with it
has been. Does it keep you from losing sleep? Could you live without it?
Does it go off every five seconds and drive your neighbors mad?

I have a xena lock and use it every day and am happy with it. Where I park @ work it is somewhat sheltered but not totally nor is it enclosed. We have some days with 30 MPH with gusts to 40 MPH. I have never had a false alarm. That said today I just put it on and after the arming beep sounded the zena settled less than a mm, and the alarm beep started, so I used the key and disarmed and rearmed and everything was well. I have bumped the scooter before and it goes off. It is sensative but I have had no false alarms. That said, it only protects from mostly honest people. If you are in a high crime area maybe consider a lojack system with satellite tracking via internet. That way once it is stolen it will lead you to the perpetrators via GPS coordinates. :D

I'm actually working out a little kink with my XZN-6, but I have to say, if you decide to purchase one, you're likely to get some utterly outstanding service - the kind that not only emails you back, but does so the same day... and does so again in a few days to make sure you received the response. If only all distant retailers offered such personal attention.

In terms of the lock itself, I see it as greatly expanding my parking options. I have a huge chain that makes me feel very safe.... when I can find something legal to wrap it around. When I can't, or for quick stops, the Xena's gonna have my back.

And of course, having the optimum security setting of both the chain and the Xena makes Daisy WAY too much trouble to steal. Redundant systems, my friend.

I prefer the Trunk Monkey recovery system.

I echo all of the positive feedback about the XZN-6. It's a great product, and the service I've had so far has been top notch. I can't imagine a $56 better spent.

But a capuchin can't carry a shotgun like the Trunk Monkey.

I agree with all the positive posts...from the customer service to the lock itself, I've been very pleased.

I agree with Quo Vadimus and also have a very heavy duty chain lock that I use when I'm going to leave it parked for a long time out of my site (and over night). But it's a pain so having the Xena has made quick stops a lot easier...pop on the disc lock, alarm it, and away I go. I've not had one false alarm yet. Best accessory I have!

i got the wrong one for the buddy. their customer service called me back, mailed me another one immediately. incredibly nice british sounding chap.
i love mine. i HAVE gotten a false alarm on more than one occasion but the reason is you have to kind of position it correctly (in the deepest groove on the disk brake, that way the mirrors that act together to activate the alarm are not going in and out of seeing each other or seeing half and half. you'll understand when you get one and look at it properly

Where is the best place to get a XZN6 lock. I googled the name Xena lock and got the manufacturers home page but did not see a way to order one. I guess they only sell through dealers? To the people who have these locks and got good service and price, where did you get them.
