My brother just bought a TGB Sunset 50cc. Anyone know about these?

They're pretty nice looking...they don't look too sport bike-ish, which is nice. I know TGB is Taiwanese.

Anyone else have feedback?

I like the Sunset and the Key West.

Solid build quality, lots of rental scoot places use these.

It's not a buddy, but he should have no real issues.

two thumbs up

Sunset and Key West are essentially the same scoot. A well-built 50cc Taiwanese scoot at a very good price.

The sunset has bigger wheels than the key west, from what I can see. Slightly different design. Also, it says the key West can handle 2 riders because it has a large weight capacity. Not sure what it is for the Sunset.

The black and silver sunsets look pretty nice.

2-strokers. Do they really pollute as much as everyone says?

Sunset & Keywest not realy the same at all ..... Keywest reminds me of a offroadish looking bike.

I looked at the Sunset and almost bought one .... but then I saw the Buddy ...just liked Bud a little better ... happy I waited

4 guys at work bought TGB's in the last year .... only one guy has had problems ..... but I think that is because it wasnt running "quit right" and he was working on it & "fixing" it himself

If there had been a 150 Delivery http://www.cobrasales.com/delivery.htm in the Valley of the Neverending Sun a year ago, I'd be on one of those today. You'll never get confused about which scoot's your's when you ride one of those!

until monday when I got my Blur I have been commuting on a TGB 50 for almost 3 years. Mine is the '05 303R which is more like the current R50X. in '05 they also made the 101 which closely compares to the Sunset. They are the same drivetrain with different tupperware, some like the smaller more retro fairing, some like the bigger more european style.

I can tell you that I have had 3 years of trouble free, excellent performance from my TGB - yes the 50 is a 2stroke, one of a few that can still be imported within the emissions guidelines - '05 was the last year for many 2t models in the US. There is a pretty good dealer network, the scoots are solidly built, good fit & finish and honestly sitting side by side the TGB looks like it came out of the same plant as the Blur - both of mine are orange & black and the colors are nearly identical. The tires are the same (MAXXIS) except the TGB has 12" where the Blur has 13" - but the TGB 150 has 13's.

I think your brother will be very happy with his Sunset :D
