what have you and your buddy been up to?

Post by Ken82 »

-riding on the interstate ( i seriously..just had to do it..i had to..no questions)
-not taking the msf (we think we're pretty awesome without it...i know..i know..you guys hate us)
-splitting lanes(just because we can!)
-attracting all sorts of freaks asking about us..and our happy marriage
-breaking 75 on the spedometer going over a bridge (im not even kidding!)
-getting mad respect from all bikers...cept snooty scooter dudes (which reminds me a lot of road cyclists attitude towards fixed gear bike riders)

overall owning a buddy is suuuuper sick...im soooo happy i stumbled upon these scooters...i know our actions are a little crazy but what can we say

what have you guys been doing?

Enjoying it SOOOO much.

Registered for the MSF course later this month (by the way, I have to take it on a motorcycle per the Mass RMV - silly)

Am doing this stuff without my scoot http://tinyurl.com/4d37yo because I couldn't bring it on the airline.

Can't wait to get back to get back on the road.

You won't find me on the interstate. You will find me on coastal roads and at ice cream stands and at burger joints. And more.

FUN FUN FUN

-rippin' the curvy country backroads every day to and from work
-cleaning off the sap that sort of misted Yoshi when I had him parked under a tree last Saturday
-observing roadkill closeup...saw a dead kingsnake yesterday
-msf=nope, but would like to sometime
-waving at other riders and getting waves back
-waving at shirtless/helmetless rednecks on crotchrockets and not getting waves back
-transporting a ginormous Eastern Herculese beetle in the seat box
-hitting the throttle full blast off of every stop light
"...faster and faster until the thrill of speed overcomes the fear of death!"

Drinkin' some wine, eatin' some cheese, catchin' some rays....scootin' around.
Maude Lebowski: What do you do for recreation?
The Dude: Oh, the usual. I bowl. Drive around. The occasional acid flashback.

hell yeah..all about trouble!

amy i feel your paint...louisiana is a hot one! but i work practically outdoors so im already always sweaty!

as for home boy full throttle off the stop lights..im with you...i find a certain thrill in beating a car off the line...

i've also been guilty of weaving in traffic...but i think regular motorists hate it because it's simply an advantage that motorcycles posses... if a car could do the same..everyone would.

what have you and your buddy been up to?

Post by chrissolo48 »

I am soooo jealous. I don't have mine yet and I cannot wait.

As far as what I did this week:

Put deposit down on my buddy
Thought about buddy
Got a flat while riding on hubby's iron horse
Thought about buddy
Studied for motorcycle permit test
Thought about buddy
Looked into locations to take motorcycle skills test
Thought about buddy (I seem to be obsessed!)

Boy, the next 3 weeks or so are really going to go slow while I think about buddy.

My buddy and I have:
Watched it rain,
Watched it flood,
Watched for tornados,
Watched some branches blow out of the trees by my house,
Watched it rain,
Watched it rain,
Watched the river get higher,
Watched it rain,
Celebrated that Stange road didn't get closed again,
Finally got to go for a ride yesterday and to work today!

Did I mention I live in Iowa :)

Jules - I know exactly how you feel here! Today I had to go to the south side of Des Moines to pick my scoot up from a repair job. Of course, with downtown being required to evacuate from the flooding, the roads were quite congested (I live on the west side of Des Moines).

It was quite a trip riding the scoot back; seeing where all the water overtook downtown and the surrounding area. Puts some things into perspective...

-Got my MSF endorsement
-Not paying to get my actual motorcycle license
-Refusing to let the rarely accurate weather forecast keep me from riding
-Riding through the rain for the first time
-Hitting 70 mph, a new high speed for myself and my Bud
-Being disappointed at all the new scooterists in town who wear no gear what-so-ever
-Convincing two friends to buy Buddys (Tempe, AZ watch out!)
-Trying to sell my cage (Who needs it!?)

Everything in Ames is fine. I do feel really bad for my friends in Des Moines, Cedar Rapids and Iowa City (of course all the other towns, too). I can't believe the damage!

We finally have a nice week to ride and I leave Wednesday morning for a conference, that figures.

By the way, it is nice to know there is another Buddy in Iowa! I'm glad I didn't have to choose between pink and seafoam green. That would have been hard.

Hope all is well for you in Des Moines.

Prepaid for my Buddy
Looked for accessories for my Buddy
Found cute stuff for my Buddy
Rode on back of cruiser while thinking how much more fun it will be when I get my Buddy

I'm right there with ya! :D
Yes, it's fast. No, you can't ride it.
