It may seem like a lot to remove the muffler to get the rear wheel off. But if you'd removed the muffler, you probably wouldn't have spent an hour and a half trying to do it.

A thin piece of material used to seal two connecting parts, ie... the exhaust gasket seals the area between the exhaust pipe and the motor... kind of like caulk that you would line around a window, excpet it is not a liquid or gel that hardens...
Just put Michlin S-1 tires front and back on my Buddy yesterday. Front - I had the remove the brake caliper. Now I have a minor squeek I have to locate. Back - I had to remove the Muffler AND the Muffler support bracket. I did mark the brake drum where the valve stem was so the remount went back exactly as it came off. Hopefully with the S-1 tires, I'll never have to remove them again. Yes, there is a small round gasket about 1 1/4" in diameter and 1/8" thick that fits into a recess of the exhaust pipe. I am very pleased with the S-1 tires, very smooth, balanced and corners very good.
