We have looked in motorcycle shops, scooter shop, and online. I went to Amsoil's website can't find that they even list a 15w-40 as a product. I have Googled until I am googley.
We did buy some regular Rotella 15w-40 for the MC and were toying with using it for this oil change, but I keep hearing
synthetic whispering in my head from Eric, Sparky, and the Oil Change Tech Thread. So now I am beeeeeggggggging, HOW do we find this elusive oil?
Help little Buddina, please!

Never mind... edited and took out what I was looking at because it was diesel...
Hmm, I'm doing a second edit (yes I'm being extremely indecisive in my answer

)
http://www.amsoil.com/storefront/ame.aspx
It states that it can be used for:
APPLICATION

API CI-4+,CF, CF-2, SL
ACEA A3/B3, E2, E3, E5
Global DHD-1
JASO DH-1
Mack EO-N Premium Plus '03
DDC Power Guard 93K214
Caterpillar ECF-1-a, ECF-2
Cummins CES 20071, 20072, 20076, 20077, 20078
Volvo VDS-2, VDS-3
MB 228.1, 228.3, 229.1
MAN 271/3275
MTU Type 2
Not sure if this is what you are really looking for though?

Geesh. At this point I am not really sure this is what I am looking for either, but it sure looks like the only thing that is close to what the guys here recommended to me.
You ROCK! My husband and I have been on Amsoil's site looking at each of the drop-down menus, and that 15w-40 IS NOT in there, but following your link I found it, and then I put the into into the "search" area, and it sent me to your link too.
Thanks so much!
Now, can anyone clarify, do I use "diesel & marine" oil in little genteel Buddina???
What a process.
Not what it was like changing oil on the old car when I was in high school. This is some learning dealy!

Thanks for everyone who is helping me along. I have worn out the oil change thread hunting for this info, but couldn't find these answers. Thankfully we have photos with that thread for the big event! I love this forum.

Searching around on the forums came across another possibility that wasn't fully explored, hence I can't claim any real knowledge about.
The link to the posting is:
viewtopic.php?t=1332&highlight=amsoil
and another search on Amsoil's site led to this:
http://www.amsoil.com/catalog.aspx?subcategory=42
The oil that is being presented isn't 15w-40, rather it is 10w-40. Unfortunately, I'm not big into the mechanics of my scoot yet (yet! yet!) but I am hoping that some additional clarification from the seasoned pro's here on the site might be of assistance.
P.S. I've read in other posts that 15w-40 is the way to go, such as in:
viewtopic.php?t=2326&highlight=amsoil
Sorry if I'm rehashing old threads, the grade (correct term? Wow I feel so much like the noob I am

) to be used eludes me.

I used this grade diesel oil in my Kymco all the time. M/C racers use it. POC Phil uses it too.

Good. That is the 15w-40 we have sitting in our garage right now! It looks like that might be our choice since we can't find any of the other around here yet.
One question: Do you change to 10w-40 during the winter?
