I took the on-scooter part of my Motorcycle Endorsement test today and passed! I was so excited because it was my first attempt and my boyfriend flunked his first attempt. So....who's the man?!?!? Me, the girly girl on the pink Buddy!

Why is it that there are only 4 parts to the test and it's so darn nerve racking? I can do all the stuff in that test all day long, but put a State Patrol uniform on a man standing there judging me and I'm a bundle of nerves. Sucks...not to mention the people in line waiting to test watching you. The guy after me got a 100 and he was on a Harley, the guy after him on a crotchrocket flunked. Sorry Dude...let me pat myself on the back. Pat - Pat - Pat

no, i just need to schedule my riding test at the DMV... the ones in seattle require you to schedule an appointment for the test.

In Ohio, what is included besides the riding test to get your motorcycle endorsement?

Oh the fun! I haven't taken my practical yet, but all the stories I'm reading remind me of getting my pilot's license. You know you have the skills down, but everything changes when that designated examiner is watching. At least the M1 practical doesn't require a 3-hour oral exam of the vehicle code. :D Congrats on passing (and beating your boyfriend).

Hi Schroeder!

You can either take the Ohio MSF class which is 1 in class and 2 "on the road" sessions (once you take and pass the class you will get your endorsement), or take the riding test thru the State Highway Patrol. I went last week and picked up a listing of what is on the test - they give you the instructions for each run on the test and you can even go and practice after hours on the actual course. It's very straightforward, but I'm sure it's nerve-wracking when you are actually in the test situation.

Either way you go, good luck!

Outstanding! I now have this mental picture of you waltzing through the test on GiGi while the hotrod on the crotchrocket falls over like a kid wrecking a tricycle.

Okay, as a moderator, I really should say something a little more mature and insightful than that, so I will. I am really looking forward to the day when some of the folks, particularly women, who are learning to ride now, will decide to go all the way through the MSF courses and even continue through the MSF Instructor training courses. It will be a fine day when the the State Policeperson opens the gates to the motorbike licensing area and there are fifteen well-trained women riders on Buddy scooters (and a couple sheepish-looking guys on crotchrockets) waiting to run the course.

Again, congrats on passing your test! Ride safe out there.

I'm just thankful I won't have to take the riding test. Once I pass the MSF, all I have to do is take the written DMV to get my M!

two and half weeks and counting...
