Scooterworks Rocks!

Post by sargelee71 »

Well, I went in for my first maintenance today with 516 miles on the speedo. When I pulled up, two staff guys were in the alley (service entry) smoking and they came up to me to see what I needed. They were super great. Told them why I was there--thought I had an appointment, but it turns out either the guy who took the appointment wrote it in the wrong week or I messed up. They took me anyway and started right at it. Dean (I think that's his name) reached out to shake my hand, because I "actually [rode]." I got mine around the end of April. He told me that so many people buy it cause it's cool, and never ride it--taking them over a year to come in for the first service at around 500 miles.

Sidenote: Met just such a guy on Saturday who was on an '07 Sunset who came up to me at a red light and chatted me up. He was shocked when he found out when I got mine and how many miles I had on it (in the 480s). He had about that much and he got his about a year ago. I DON'T GET IT!

So, while waiting for my service, I chatted with Dean and Phil (himself) as WGN News was there to do a report on scooter sales, etc. Ken was working hard demonstrating the joys of scooting to the WGN reporter and crew. 50 minutes later, I was back on my scoot (which rides noticeably better--feels more finely tuned) WITH a new brown floormat to match my brown seat and grips...that Dean threw in at no charge.

Just wanted to give a shout out to the folks at Scooterworks. Thanks for indulging me.

I bought a scooter to ride, not to look at!

Louie---I meant to respond to your post in a previous thread about my age and how I would know the "My Buddy" tune. Girl, how old do you THINK I am--given that other avatar (Lil' Tomboy me on an amusement park "scoot")? I'm old enuff. :P In fact, I turned 30 ON 9/11...so you do the math.

i had to look back to figure out what i may have been thinking. i guess that other avatar looked like an older picture than it was. i think i was suggesting you were too old (50ish?) to know all those lyrics. but i think not.

isn't it nice that I can over estimate someone's age (or misjudge how fem someone is...Alix) without any hard feelings, after all we've never met.
