Cafe Au Lait and such

Have you started to develop a need for coffee and sophisticated European drinks now that you're riding a scooter?

The main reason I got mine was because in three trips to Europe in the past four years I fell in love with the scooter imagery and community.

These were trips to Paris mostly. And now I'm prone to scooting down to Starbucks and gazing out the window at Velveeta whilst I sip on my Macchiatto or my Cafe Au Lait.

Should I get therapy or just a well-constructed travel mug so I can put on airs all over the place?

Not saying it makes sense, but if scooting is a lifestyle then it seems only right to extend it to all the finer things in life we can enjoy.

Also, there are now a bunch of scooter shops (javaspeed in RI for one) that offer a whole coffee bar in the shop. It's the coolest.

I've always thought it would be the bomb to have a coffeshop attached to the scooter shop with plenty of parking so it could be used as a launching/landing pad for rides.
It seems most scooterists enjoy their coffee.

That is one of the food items I miss the most from Spain . . . good coffee at a decent price and Jamon Serrano ! Yum !

You may have to rename your scoot. Not many French cheeses are that color though.

You may have to rename your scoot. Not many French cheeses are that color though.

Maybe it should be Orange Chevre. But that's two words. I could go with Humbolt Fog, but that's not orange.

Velveeta is really the only thing that color...in the cheese family.

I guess I could go back to Clementine, but that's TOO cheesy.

It will stay Velveeta until I discover a new French Cheese in the gorgeous orange color.

Why do you all seem to be under the impression that Buddies have anything to do with Europe? They're not even particularly popular there, I bet they sell more here. I know Genuine encourages it, but embrace Chinese Taipei already. You don't have to lie to yourselves! : )

I'm the first person to give General Gao his due, but I'm of the belief that my Euro-style Buddy has some chromosomes that are distinctly Parisian.

And even if Velveeta is a native of the land of the rice paddy, I think she would rather flit about the fashionable streets of gay Paris.

I'm secure in my masculinity. Just ask my girlfriend who continues to giggle at the fact I got an orange scooter.

I ride to libraries at least once a week (and am going to 2 today to return stuff). I'm fortunate to have several good ones close to me.

Going down with something in my pocket that may shoot me is not in my wardrobe planning. . .however, the Buddy's front holder can be arranged to hold an easily accessible firearm if necessary. Now to figure out how to maneuver things so that the dang gloves aren't an obstacle. . .

I think that a good name to rename your scoot would be Jibini! It is cheese in Swahili!

No offense to the Spanish flag, which is obviously more distinctive than Italy or France's flags, but the ROC flag meets the highest standard of flag design: it's easy for a kid to draw (or to have made with laser-cut vinyl, without being boring. The coat of arms is too complicated. : )

Granted it might not sound cool, but it's easy to remember and spell.

Your okay, Paris will do this to anyone who has been there, it's a great place to enjoy a wonderful lifestyle, the same thing happened to me and Mrs. Merckx, we will never be the same again......

I did see not see one Buddy, darn it-and I was looking hard. As I mentioned in another post, there were some no names/unbadged scooters, and lots of Kymcos with weird names like "dink" and some vespas also with other names. I saw a PGO max and some Syms. Spain looks like the best place so far to scoot...tapas, scooters, cafes, some sanity in road rules

Okaaaayyy... lots of stuff going on here...

Can't drink caffeine because my hands cramp into fists of pain, so no coffee for me. Occasionally I will make up a decaf mocha icecream shake.

As for putting Taiwan flags on your scooter, that's all gravy if you like it. I was considering doing my Italia all *Krispy Kreme* style, since it is green, white, & red... Yeah, I know my scooter wasn't made by Krispy Kreme, but who cares who makes it, it's what I like.

dude, they ARE scooter friendly! there was a scooter ride where we went up there one saturday for ride-n-lunch-n-ride. (I missed it - work - but rumor is that it was awesome, as was the ride.) Some people have made it a semi regular place to stop for breakfast when scootering.

The reasons for this are myriad, including the European emphasis, the inclusion of cheese and eggs and the feminine nature of the vessel (ships and cars and spaceships are named in the feminine so why stop at scoots?).

Don't forget that the cost of living is so much lower, that a similarly paying job would seem like a big raise.

but, for real, I totally get it. CA is nice. We'd prolly move there if we could afford it without me having to get a full time job. I like being a part-timer.

She's got a new name... Croque Madame.

It's a grilled cheese sandwich enrobed in cheese with an egg (me) on top.

Got the cheese part, the deliciousness part, the European part and the egg part.
