'08 International Series Horn Placement

Post by Shane Wilson »

Would someone be so kind as to post some photos of the horn placement on the '08 International Series?

I have in my possession a Stebel Compact Nautilus and am ready to install it.

I took some photos at my local shop when they got in their first St. Tropez, but it took so long to get the horn that I have since changed phones and erased the photos from my old phone when I reset it.

Doh!

Thanks.

No photos, but a question. Don't all the new Buddys (125 and up) have the massive horns already?

The 125's have the Stebel Magnum, which is a loud horn but not the two-tone 139db air horn that the Stebel Nautilus is.

Only the 150's get those!

Shane, you wanna know the placement so you can install in your '07 Italia right? Here is the thread that tells you how to do it. I roughly based mine off that post, but skipped some steps so I won't show you mine cuz it's prolly not right.

Woah, hey! Three 2007 Italia 125 owners in one thread... classy!

(I'm not saying others don't have class, I'm just implying maybe not *as much* class)

We are the classics. The originals. We're almost European (said simply to attract Illnoise to this thread with his "you kids know your scooters are from ROC, right?!?!?!" schtick).

I've seen that thread.

I just recall when I looked at the '08 St. Tropez that there didn't appear to be a need for DIY brackets and the like.

So I was just hoping some camera happy '08 International owner might let us see up their Buddy's skirt :D .

This may have been answered and I just missed it, but does the Nautilus just drop in to the normal '08 Buddy 125? I'm sure many have done this, is it just a plop-in replacement job?

Thanks,
SITR

Come on International riders!

Show a brother some love!

I just need a couple of tiny little ol' shots under your front cover to see how the parts are jammed in there.

Please.

Pretty please?

Yeah, what's the deal? I know someone asked this question a month or two ago also, and I don't think anyone ever posted a pic for them either!!! If nobody does it tonight, I'll go up to the local dealer and see if they have any Internationals (scoots are going like hotcakes!). I hope a lot of people get scooters and some eventually decide that's not for them and start selling 'em real cheap... I could use some scooter diversification in my driveway. 8)

Yeah that was me. I've asked twice at least. Stinkin' '08 Int'l snobs. All, "ooooh... I won't put out on the first date."

Whatev.

Show us whatcha got.

:P

(I'm just bitter that us '07 Italia owners can't be snobs anymore...)

I just found the ones I took on my old phone.

They're not the greatest, but I think they get the poing across.

Now that I've posted these photos and compared them to the DIY thread, I'm noticing that Genuine has modified the top bracket on the '08's to mount the horn.

I guess we do need to make our own bracket.

DOH!

Or they could offer the new bracket as a replacement part? Would that work? I can't really see the bracket nor imagine the old one- is it a part that could be swapped?

Of course, it would take six months to get, but still!!

don't think it could be a part swap.

it's welded to the piece that our existing horn bolts to.

damn.

double damn.
