Speaking of seat covers....

So I got my Bud and it's totally sweet, but today I had to ride in the rain (not willingly - I was scheduled to take my skills test but, as luck would have it, was rained out. Funny enough, the day I picked my scoot it was raining AND Friday the 13th. Go figure.). This was the first time for me in real traffic and the rain didn't help me get comfortable riding in the real world...Anyway, this leads me to ask where I could pick up a plastic/waterproof/water-repellant seat cover? I've seen something that looks like the showercap your grandma would wear to keep her hair dry, so something like that would suffice. I know there are customized seat covers out there although I'm not sure if they are waterproof. Any insight?

Your seat IS plastic.

You really don't need to worry about it with the Buddy's vinyl cover. the only reason to get a rain cover for the seat would be if you had to park it in the rain and wanted a dry place to sit when scootering. One of many reasons I always have plastic bags or a trash bag in my pet carrier.

SKA'D, I know what you mean, the seat isn't smooth so wiping it off with a towel doesn't really get it dry. Seattle has an outdoor fabric store with all sorts of cool stuff. I found a pretty much light-weight fabric that looks kinda like parachute material. I made a pattern by forming postal wrapping paper around the seat, cut out the shape about 2 inches bigger, sewed a channel and fed an elastic cord through the channel. And yes, I do call it my scooter shower cap! It scrunches up tiny and I put it under my seat when I reach my destination. It is easy If you or any one you know is minimally handy with a sewing machine

I picked up a 2-pk of microfiber towels in the auto cleaning aisle at Wal-Mart. The towels soak up the rainwater on my seat ASAP. They dry quickly, and I keep them in my seat storage.

I use my bare hand, wipe off the seat and sit. Don't have to carry anything extra.

Or else you could put a convertable top on the scoot? Or maybe carry a hair dryer?
Someone asked me once, looking at my scoot, "But what happens when it rains?"
"I get wet", I told her...!

Why not?
Me, I prefer not riding with a wet butt. That means having a wet butt when I get to my destination, and sitting on a wet butt anywhere I go afterwards. No thanks.
But if you're cool with that, great for you, badass! Er, wetass...

I am one of the lucky ones I guess. I was born water proof. Water runs right off of me and what doesn't dries quickly with a towel. Only my clothes get soaked. What is the big deal? They can be changed easily.
