Can you put a 150cc engine in a 125cc Buddy?
Reading the "Buddy Life Expectancy" thread, it made me wonder. Let's say you ride your Buddy 125 to 100,000 miles and the engine needs to be replaced. Could you put a 150cc into the frame?

Do you know for certain that the transmission needs to be replaced? I know to keep costs down, often manufacturers will try to simplify their parts and use one transmission for different displacements. For all I know, the 150cc engine could be the exact same engine as the 125cc. They probably just bored it out a little more.

Not sure if it uses the same one or not. PGO list the engine as a C6 while the 125 uses a C2, so no clue if the transmission is the same or not. The cover and mount are the same, but what's inside both models could be slightly different.
Plus for a dealer to order the engine, they'd probably receive the whole thing.

You will definitely need to replace the entire exhaust system.
Transmission may actually be the same, and I'm pretty sure you could get the engine without it.
The frame and body on these scoots is identical, but the engine parts are not interchangeable.
