Thanks for getting me started

I started scooting real recently -- borrowed a friend's for a weekend a while ago, then bought one. Started around the block, then around the hood, then over to the next neighborhood. Then farther out. I'm pretty comfortable on the Buddy I picked up this week now.
But reading here has made me realize how new I am at this. Thanks to the depth of knowledge here, I am now nervous and alert when I'm on the road, which I'm realizing is the way to be -- aware of the road surface, aware of people, cars, obstacles all around.
Thanks to y'all I am wearing a FF helmet, and got an armored mesh jacket and gloves. And I'll probably take the MSF course in Sept. when I have more time and get a license, which isn't required here for a 50cc.
I commuted to work a few days this week, and I want to continue. I've got a route that's half city traffic (where I really am going the speed of traffic,). The other half covers some suburban roads with mostly 30 mph speed limits, where I seem to be able to exceed the limit by enough to keep people off my butt... There are 1/2 mile or so stretches in two spots where I may have to pull aside and let a few cars go by.
I appreciate the depth of information here, and should be around for a while, soaking new stuff in. Thanks, y'all.
