With 1600 miles on the clock my rear brake has begun to squeak. It gets worse when the temperatures get above 90*. Does your rear brake squeak?

I only had about 100 BDUs before Daisy started squealing. It comes and goes.
Loud brakes save lives, right?

At almost 30,000 miles, I decided to go ahead and replace the rear brakes last weekend while I was putting on a new rear tire. The old brakes had started squeaking lately.
Well, I took some very fine sandpaper to the drum to knock off any glaze that might be there and put in the new brake shoes.
Damn! It squeaks worse than ever

!
I mean, really loud.
It's a PITA to take off the exhaust, exhaust bracket and rear wheel but I may just do it anyway and slap the old shoes back in.
The old rear brakes actually looked pretty good; my 30K miles is mostly go with very little stop.

Sometimes it is a pad material thing. The brakes on my track car squeal like a pig at any temp under 60 degrees. Flaming hot on the track? quiet as a church mouse.
You can also sand the surface of the shoe just a bit to remove glaze, too. But yeah, its a bear to get to.

The front brake is the more common squeaker! Usually from dust in the disc.
