Is this possibly the scooter stereo answer???

Post by coffeebrown »

I just came across this while browsing the interwebs and I think I may go for this - sounds simple enough??? Anyone care to chime in with opinions? Does it appear to be electrically feasible?

OOPS!!! Forgot to include the link:

Those have been around for a while:

The question is: "will your stock electrical system support it?" the answer is: "no"

I think a small set of battery powered speakers could do the trick if mounted up where you can hear them. That way no mods are needed, no worries about the electrical, etc.

I've been considering this for a long ride in September, but may just wear an earbud instead.

I installed almost the exact same stereo on my Buddy. Though mine was a bit cheaper and has an FM stereo: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0018P5L9G

This weekend I'm planning on taking some pictures of the install. It works *really* well with an iPod, but the FM radio gets so much interference from the engine that you can only listen to the radio while the engine isn't running. The speakers mount up perfectly by the handlebars and 100W is plenty of power to make them louder than you'll probably need. I'll let you know once I get the pics up.

off topic but since it's about sound and scooters i figure this is a good enough thread to put it in instead of starting a new one....

today I rode into town and just as I was entering an area where there were houses, i heard some music, really loud, like, right next to me. I jumped and looked around, wondering where the car was and how it had snuck up on me out of the blue like that...it had to be really close, or they were playing really loud. i looked all around me, nothing. i feared some kind of blind spot and kept looking, still nothing.

then I wondered if it was one of the houses playing really loud music. but there was no increasing/diminishing sound...so it HAD to be a car somewhere keeping pace with me, it was kinda freaky.

then I had an "aHa" moment followed by a "d'oh" moment.
see, I had put my cell phone in a bag in the front compartment,
someone was calling me

now, how come I can never hear that thing in the stores???
