If you've seen the great oil change step-by-step post here on MB, you probably are wondering about finding a measured syringe like the one shown in the pictures. I found something close - it's called a "Fork Oil Level" by Progressive Suspension. I got mine by special order at the local Honda dealership. Hope this helps someone!

Advanced and auto zone sell these giant syringes for oil and liquids in the oil change department. They dont have measurements but if you are doing your own oil, you probably do have a cup to pre measure what you suck into the needle.

I may just have to shop around some more because I haven't been able to find one in parts store or online.

Okay—sad tech confession time… last oil change on my Vespa, I couldn't get the oil drain plug off and was starting to strip the nut. So I used my improvised gear oil tool: a turkey baster with 18" of rubber tubing attached to the end. Took forever to suck a whole quart out, one ounce at a time. Made a horrible mess, too.

Here's what I use:

Google FJC Syringe Oil Injector. $10.99 at Amazon. Think I paid about $6 at (shudder) Wal-Mart.

I found a suitable syringe at one of the local medical supply stores around here, right around the corner from Auto Zone, as a matter of fact. I use it to measure gear oil for the Buddy, and to extract excess oil from the Vespa P200, should I over-fill.

You could get some "irrigation syringes" on med supply stores. They are 60cc's. Just google irrigation syringes and you will get a ton of responses. They sell for under $1.

Then get a few inches of clear tubing at your local pet store. It will be by the aquarium supplies.

The Flotool Measu-Funnel is great - made for petro-chemicals and cheap at AdvanceAuto Parts (<$5). The funnel end fits perfectly in the oil fill hole, tube is very flexible, and as the name implies you can measure in this before letting the fluid (oil) flow to its destination. If you make a mess with this, well...
