So I was over at the Modern Vespa forum and I came across an interesting topic: "Riding Through Water" Which got me thinking the same thing... How much water can a Buddy ride through safely? Or even be pushed through while the engine is not running??
Have any of you ever had to take your Buddy through water?
The problem with the Buddy is that the battery is under the floor mat. I assume that's somewhat water tight, but immersing the floorboard for more than a second is probably not a good idea. You can get through most puddles pretty quickly, but if you try to go through a deep one — 8" or so? — you'll get that sudden deceleration when you hit the water. If you hit it fast enough, this could force water under the floormat. It probably won't, but unless you really HAD to get through that water, why risk damaging your electrical system?
