The continuing saga of the Mod Buddy

by Mike @ NoHo Scooters
We added a white seat and grips that normally appear on a Pink Buddy for the Creamsicle look. Also added is a Faco chrome foot rest made for the Vespa ET4. Thanks to Motorsport Scooters for the tip on the footrest.
I also ordered some spotlights, but they are backordered.
Its amazing how many people think its an old scooter until they get close.

Monstrous.
Mudflap's a nice touch, too.
Where will it end?
Where did you get the back rest?

Where did you get the back rest? My most frequent passenger would really appreciate having that!

I asked Mike@NoHo the same question. He said:
"I used standard stadium mirrors and mounts."
I still don't know if that answered the question.

Scooterworks sells stadium mirrors with two different mounts: crashbar and rack:

I'm thinking the "Big Style" mount would work with a Buddy front rack, but I don't know. Just haven't made the time to order both and see for myself!

What model of backrack is that? I got the standard Buddy backrack and it is WAY shorter! I like yours a lot!

That's a heavily modified Vespa rear rack (or one made for a Vespa) that Mike managed to get mounted back there. He did this before the Buddy racks were available.

Nice! The stadium mirrors look great.

Thanks. The stems need to be longer though.... they're way too short and utterly useless.
Also, they shake like crazy in high speed. Not too sure if I like that too much.

Hey Sparty -- looks phenom!
The world wants to know; which clamps fit the Buddy's front rack?! See my post above for links.

I bought the one linked in my email above. It looks like the ''W'' Style clamp on the scooter works web page. It fits perfectly on my rack.

They are attached to a spring loaded movable section of a front rack, correct? If you attach wind catchers to springs ...

That's a good point. If you attach them to the non-springy part of the rack, wouldn't it solve both the usability and shakiness issues?
Also, ScooterWorks has a 24" stem that might give more clearance, allowing you to see more behind you:

no self-respecting mod would wear a 40+ yearold suit either... but every time i see a "mod", they are wearing something terribly un-modern...

Mike,
I love it. I'm seriously considering dumping my front basket and adding a rack for mirrors and a set of three or four head lights and some bullet lights. I'm going to wait awhile as the lights are pricey and I just dropped $3K+ on a new PX-150 and the wifey just smiled. I don't want to push it.
Have you considered more headlights?

Well, as long as she's still smiling......
