Pardon me if this is a dumb question, but does Prima make brown saddlebags to match their brown roll bag? I haven't found any so I am assuming no.

Next question, if they don't make them, how do we convince them to make some?

Also, I saw in a photo somewhere a Prima (I think) bag that sits on the floorboard and attaches in the front of the seat. Anyone know about that?

The saddlebags only come in black. Hard to find brown textile saddlebags of any kind.

As far as trying to convince them… I don't know who to contact or how. They don't even have their own website.

The floorboard bag might be called a tunnel bag. I know Givi and Vespa both make them, but haven't seen a Prima one.

There's also this SX Appeal case that would probably work there.

Triumph makes some awesome brown saddle bags. Very Mod! Not cheap, as you can imagine and I don't know if you could fit them to a Buddy

Thanks KCSD. Those are some beautiful bags. A little expensive for me. The one saddlebag style that really caught my eye was [gulp] $590! Yikes! It's just a shame I can't afford my taste... guess I'll just have to save getting those saddlebags until I have my Triumph Café Racer...

Was looking at the measurements on those saddlebags. 15"x10"x...3" wide?!? Someone tell me that's just at the seams and they're not rigid material.

Yeah...thanks for the link, Eric. Some of the best scooter luggage I've found yet! That backrest bag might crowbar it's way into my budget whether I want it to or not!

I noticed that 3" too. The one negative. About a small briefcase width.

I just called Motosport Scooters, a dealer in San Diego, to find out more about the 3" depth and the very nice guy who measured the Saddlebag said it is actually about 3 1/2" deep and will expand somewhat too - say to 4 or 4 1/2".

One nice cosmetic note, the SX Appeal roll bag, top case, saddlebags, center bags, etc, all are made of similar colored materials to appear as a matched set of luggage.

I mentioned there is a thread discussing SX Appeal luggage here and he said they may be able to work out free shipping if enough of us MBers decide we want some of these...

The similar Prima topcases have had some quality issues. A number of people reported the latches breaking on theirs. I don't know if this problem has been addressed.

The Prima saddlebags look bigger to me and seem to be good quality, especially for the price.

ISS makes some pretty nice-looking and reasonably priced saddle bags.

If you need more volume, check out these EMGO bags. Under $100!

I really want a pair of these vintage Motobecane bags. They're made to go on the rear rack, but I think I could customize the straps to go under the seat. Unfortunately, I can't find them in white (yellow, orange and green are frequently for sale on eBay).

i've got a great self rigged set of saddle bags i've gone on about on this forum before (2 quad vihicle bags strapped together). i need something for my xcountry. it has no storage...period. i have to plan just to carry my wallet on it, that fix will cost me some.

I checked out the SX saddlebags this past weekend, really don't know what you would fit in their, they are about the depth of a briefcase but I don't think a legal sized notebook would even fit in their because of the awkward shape. I really like the look of them but cannot really think of a functional use of them to necessitate spending $90.

As primarily I am wanting saddlebags (and luggage in general) for hauling clothes etc for weekend getaways to wine country (watch for future post in Rides section) the SX saddlebags while attractive are falling short on a practical level. Even if small, it would be nice if they were at least big enough to function as a decent briefcase for hauling comps or whatever to client meetings.

So the saddlebag search goes on. I hope somewhere out there a manufacturer stumbles across this thread and considers making some of their very nice expandable black saddlebags in tan.

I feel ya, I'm planning on making regular weekend trips to SF (tried this past weekend but rain and 55mph wind), Trying to squish the clothes everywhere is a problem. If I do anything super long distance I think i'll just hit up a goodwill when I get there. If you're riding up around SC mountains give me a PM.

Cool. Will do. So far my most northerly excursion planned is 4th of July Weekend. Amerivespa in San Jose. Plans are in the works for a group ride to the event from LA. Sure am looking forward to it. Not sure what the chosen route will be at this point. Still TBD.

Hey, that's the ride I'm preparing for, too!

I think we'll have a support vehicle—the NoHo megavan—so may not have to carry all of our luggage on our scoots.

Having the NoHo-megavan as a support vehicle would be great and would definitely simplify a lot of things - not to mention be a great releif in case of any breakdowns.

I am so freakin' excited for this ride and the event! (can ya tell? It's only February and I am already talkin'/thinkin' about it...) The drive up the coast through Santa Barbara, Santa Ynez, Big Sur, Monterey etc., is one of my all time favorite things to do. Throw in a winery or two and... heaven!

I am working on a route for a spring time practice ride up to Solvang and the wineries, and the antique motorcycle museum there. I'll be putting up a post in the coming weeks to see who might be interested. I thought it would be a good way to test how well prepared one is for the longer ride to San Jose. I have never done such a long ride so I'm sure I will learn a lot...

I'm definitely up for this. There were some Meetup group members who were interested in longer rides to prepare for summer excursions, too.
