New Seatcover!

Post by pinkducati »

I created my own seatcover yesterday made from green silky fur. It is really soft. I tried tracing the seat panels with tissue paper to make a template and then sewed it all together. However, I came to realize after working with the fur that it was EXTREMELY difficult to make a nice hem for the elastic to go through. So it wound up being a little short on the sides so I put a piece of elastic across the two sides to hold them down. It seems to work fine. SO I would make a recommendation for anyone who is thinking of making their own seatcover made of fur fabric to overcompensate on the sides. I think it looks great!

Cover Your...?

Kinda looks like those fuzzy covers for toilet seats, or maybe some kind of grass. Does your backside find it cushy? 8)

Good job!

I'm still in the planning stages of designing some seat covers, so it's good to know what kind of difficulties you ran into.

Be really careful with the silky materials. Sliding around on your seat may be unexpectedly dangerous.
