black rear rack broke...

my rear rack broke in the middle joint tonight, that bracket is just missing. I had a givi case on it and it was just hanging loose by the 2 side arms. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

there are more than one string on this subject.

Mine broke also. Take it to your dealer and Genunine will warrenty it. You will get a new one.

A few people have taken it upon themselves to repair their own or have them welded.

I'm curious to know if all the broken racks were from the first shipments Genuine sent out several months ago or if the newer ones (shipped this month) still break. If so, getting them replaced is a temporary fix. Also, given the high demand/short supply of rear racks, they may run out of replacements pretty fast.

Look at the thread entitled "Chrome Rear Rack--Doh!". That thread had descriptions and pictures of what happened to two rear racks and how we fixed them.
