Portland tour of vistas....

Post by Kaos »

Ok, some friends and I are planning a ride on Saturday May 23th, and figured the more riders the better!

We're going to do a tour of the viewpoints of Portland.

We're going to start at Vespa Portland at 8:00AM

From there we'll head out to Council Crest.
Next stop is Mt Tabor Park.
Then its off to Powell Butte
and finally we'll end up at Crown Point.

This will be a take your time and take some photos ride, so any size bike should be fine!

Total trip should be about 37 miles.

Wow, that sounds like fun. I've always wanted to go to Portland and hangout for a week. I don't fish but would love to learn to so some salmon fishing up there too. Heard it's a blast!

Heh, I've never tried fishing. Not really my thing. I'll take a wrench and a motor any day ;)

Did someone say coffee and donuts?

Post by Vespa Portland »

This is Heidi from Vespa Portland... If you email me information on the ride, I will collect a few more people, maybe send out a newsletter and post it up on the social networks. Oh, and if you let me know how many people are going to meet here, i will bring coffe and doughnuts!

thanks!

Hey Heidi, nice to see you here, I think we've met in person. This is Kelly, I come in all the time with the modded out Tangerine Buddy to bug your mechanics and hang around uselessly ;) I don't think I've got your email address so I'll give you info here.

We'll be riding on Saturday, May 23rd. We'll be meeting at Vespa Portland at 8:00AM and riding on a tour of vistas and lookouts around Portland, finally ending at Crown Point.

Its open to everyone, and be sure to bring a camera :)
the map is <a href="http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&source= ... ">here.</a>

Thanks a TON for the offer of coffee, its greatly apreciated.
We've got 6 confirmed and several others likely.

So we had a killer turn out, there were 15 scooters and 16 people(2 of which randomly joined us on the road!)

We rode for about 4 hours all over Portland, ending up at the spectacular view at Crown Point.

oh yes, I am a board game geek!

and when we first moved here, my wife and I were driving through the gorge and I said "wow! it's beautiful here!"
...and my wife said "How can you tell? There's too many damn trees." (she misses the desert ;) )

Yeah, they're really different colors. That one was also the first '06 bike I've seen, and it was interesting to compare the differences.
