So Far So Good, SF, CA sept 12th & 13th

Post by enzomatic »

I'm starting this thread for the San Francisco Scooter Girls 3rd annual Rally. You can find more information on their site http://www.sfscootergirls.com. It should be a blast, I'd like to see many of you there so let me know who's going.

I'd also like to see more SF bay people representing on MB as well as more use of this rallies forum.

Still sore from yesterday's ride. Maybe I can hop a trailer and fins a floor to sleep on. :)

Fri Sept 11 Scoot! Film Festival/SFSG Meet & Greet

Post by lau7renharp »

Although our flyers and early posts give Sept. 12-13 as our rally dates, we're actually kicking off the festivities on Friday night, Sept. 11!

April (of Scoot! Magazine) has generously loaned us her fun and fabulous collection of short films that celebrate scooters and scooter culture! These gems were originally intended for outdoor presentation at Amerivespa, but we'll show them in a slightly more intimate setting. We also hope to present a slideshow of Monterey Pete's amazing photos taken at area rallies.

Details: Friday, Sept 11, 6:30-9pm, Connecticut Yankee, 100 Connecticut St @ 17th St.

We hope to see you there! Whoo-HOOO!

About Saturday Adventure Ride

Post by lau7renharp »

Posting this on behalf of one of our ride planners...

Greetings All:

There have been some questions about the ride we are taking Saturday. Whilst we are not willing to divulge our exact route yet, here are some basic facts to keep in mind.

We will be departing Suisse Italia (101 California Street) at 10:30 AM after Breakfast on Saturday
Please be gassed up
It will be a longish ride with 3.5 - 4 hours worth of "in the saddle" time
Approximately 100 miles long
We will be riding in Marin
We will be crossing the golden gate bridge both ways - the toll to come back is currently $6.00 cash
We will stop for gas and a break midway and we will stop for gas again towards the end of the ride before we get ready to head back over the bridge
There is no support truck
The views are breathtaking

It will be a technical ride (this means):
Some of it will be fast
Riders will need to have good Group Riding Skills
There are challenging twisties
Some of these twisties are on narrow downhills and will need to be shared with two way traffic
We will likely encounter gravel, the odd rock here and there, a few San Francisco like Grade A pot holes, etc
There will be some freeway riding
We do not recommend this ride for our newer riders

There will be an evening ride on Saturday night and the Scavenger Hunt ride on Sunday. Both of these rides are open to all riders.

We hope to see you out there.

Sincerely,

~Erin
