I am soooo looking forward to meeting all the buddy owners at this rally. From what I gather, there are going to be at least two or three buddy's riding down from new orleans. The remaining group is mostly vintage vespa riders, but, all of them are great people.
By the way, I will start doing a reverse indian rain dance to keep the rain away.
See yall there.

Well, I did the camping thing for the dirty coast run. That was only a one night stay. Considering the amount of time I will be on the scooter from new orleans and the two night stay, I decided to stay at a hotel. I just wanted to be able to sleep in a comfortable bed. Not to mention I did not want to offend anyone with B.O., hence, nice hot showers were a plus.
I really hope we have a good genuine product showing!

Guess you're on the road by now. I'll be at Fort Morgan when the ferry arrives and ride back to pcola with ya. So there will be one more Buddy.j490p wrote:I am soooo looking forward to meeting all the buddy owners at this rally. Made the trip to Fort Morgan. Here's a couple of pics. Hope you enjoy. Please forgive the editorializing.
What a beautiful day for a ride! No rain whatsoever. I enjoyed the solo ride to Fort Morgan immensely and wish others could have gone. Had a good shrimp poboy at the gas station/store/restaurant/bar way out on Fort Morgan Road. Definitely local, no chain. So good!
The ride back was fun. Here's a few pics. Hope you enjoy them. Just never enough though.

Can't help it. I like pelicans. The brown pelican is one of our endangered species success stories. It probably wouldn't be around if DDT hadn't been banned.
Here they come!

Everyone likes to park in the shade of a big oak. Ever see people rush to park under a palm tree? Why are we cutting them down and planting those stupid palms?

No prizes, but guess who didn't buy gas.
Couple of really fine scooters in the back of the trailer. Five years later and evidence of Hurricane Ivan is still everywhere.

I had fun. Hope all of you did also.

The riders from New Orleans went to Dauphin Island, Alabama and took the 45 minute ferry ride over to Fort Morgan. Its a pretty straight forward 60 mile ride to Pensacola from there and really pretty. The 45 minute ferry ride was a nice break for them. They said it was two minutes late leaving or they would have missed it. Their total for the day was about 225 miles before the meet and greet and short town ride Friday night.
We haven't had that many hours of clear skies in a long while. Hope its a good omen.

j490p made out like a bandit on the raffle prizes! Not to mention BEST MODERN!!! Way to go man, glad you guys were able to make it out.
I think the scooter count for the weekend was about up to 90 scooters so I'd say it was an amazing turn-out, couldn't have asked for much
better weather aside from the heat (which is normal). Can't wait to go back over there to Nawlins for BEW 3!

Lot of Buddies
Hey Dennis,
Great photos from the ferry landing! I wasn't there, but my scoot was -- the St Tropez in the trailer.
Does your Buddy have the argile seat cover? If not, do you know who owns it? I'm trying to find that photo we took on the long ride of all those beautiful Buddies.
Ciao for now,
Missy

RE Lot o Buddies
Yep! That's the one! Excellent shot. Thanks for posting it and the other one, too. I'm the one in the blue Big Easy Weekender T-shirt, by the way; I hope you can come on down to NOLA for BEW III! It's the last weekend in March.
