LA/SoCal 5/25 : ADVENTURISTS SG : Crystal Lake / Mt. Baldy
Posted: Fri May 10, 2013 11:46 am
Greetings LA/SoCal MBers!
Our May ride is nearly here! This month it's time to saddle up and take the road less travelled. Well, the road less travelled by us anyways. For the first time ever we will be riding to the top of Mt. Baldy. And in true Adventurists tradition, we'll be taking the long way there. Plus, there'll be donuts. What more could you want?
We begin the day indulging at the world famous Donut Man (home of the famous fresh strawberry donut, and fresh peach donut) before making our way up San Gabriel Canyon Rd, following the North fork of the San Gabriel River to Crystal Lake. This is a gorgeous and very twisty ride with a good deal of fresh asphalt and non-stop incredible views. You'll want to bring your camera.
After pausing at the top to rest and enjoy the view we'll make our way across Glendora Mountain Road, Glendora Ridge Rd, and on to Mt Baldy. The ride to Mt. Baldy is really something spectacular. We get to the village via a winding narrow road cut into the edge of the mountainside all the way to Mt Baldy Village. A beautiful ride not for the faint of heart.
Full details are available at the ride page. If you'd like to join us please sign up and come along!
Thanks everyone. We look forward to seeing you there!
Cheers,
Skootz / Justin
