Kickstart My Heart

Post by devojones »

First off, I did search the forums and haven't found quite what I'm looking for. I did a search in Stella Speed, but so many damn threads come up I really get discouraged fairly quickly. Anyways, I don't have a problem, yet, but recent changes in my 08 Stella's performance have me a little worried.

Normally, my kickstart is fairly solid operation, some would say stiff. A few days ago when I kicked it, it went down really easy, and since then the kick has been much easier to negotiate than normal.

Do I have anything to worry about?

Now-a-days... when the kickstarting is easy.... does the engine fire up?
Howz your motor performance otherwise?

Tip top. I just started using full synth 2-t oil. Thing's purring like a kitten. A really loud, pissed-off kitten.

Now-a-days.. with your easy kicking....does the timing seem to coincide with your new oil wrapping around the piston and rings? Maybe.. started happening around the same time????

Well, the easy kicking started before I started using the full synth. Timing seems the same. I even put on about 70 miles yesterday. Seriously, she isrunning like a champ. No problems starting, no problems in the high, low or middle. I have been taking steriods lately and my leg is pretty swold. That's the only thing I can think of. (the last statement is completely false) :P

Ah, let's review. Your scooter now kickstarts easier and is running great. What's your question? Sounds like all is good with the world. (Maybe you have been kickstarting it so much, that you are building up the muscles in your leg  )

I'm just around 4700 miles. I should note that I had a Malossi 160 cylinder kit installed around March and I'm pretty sure that is well broken in.

If you changed the top end you're really starting the break in all over. Sounds like it's starting to hit the sweet spot.

Don't forget to check your jetting with some plug chops. That kit LOVES high revs!

I'll keep my eye open. I look pretty homeless right now (I haven't shaved in about 5 months). I'm on an Orange Stella with a Tigertail (provided that nothing goes wrong towing her down from Texas).
